I like the AquaBlock Theme, the best so far. I prefer that menus be placed on the right hand side for SEO reasons.
This I find interesting. Why the right hand side? Could this be because you want the content to load before the sidebar? If this is the only problem, the content could still load first even with a sidebar on the left. It all depends on how the specific pages are coded and which way the CSS floats are coded.
Lyndi,
Yes, I believe that the page content should load first for better SEO results. When I did web design, sites with the sidebar on the left, didn’t do as well as the site’s with the sidebar on the right. My web design is very basic, no thrills.. I have been out of it for over six years and much has changed and I am not caught up with the latest.
And, you are correct that with some coding, you still can have a sidebar on the left but load the content before it. CSS, has made some good changes for site design and SEO.
My next theme will allow the user to choose the position of the sidebar but in both left or right, the content loads before the sidebar.
Lyndi,
That will be a nice feature to have, especially loading the content before the sidebar. When are you expecting to release a new theme?
I am hard at work on my own theme for this site now and the next free theme will follow that.
I agree with you. The right-hand side menus for same reasons.
Lyndy, anxious to see new free themes from you. Thanks,
Jeff
