We all know that WordPress requires PHP and MySQL to run. Both of these are server-side technologies which means that normally WordPress will only run if it is installed on a server somewhere. This becomes a problem if you are planning to develop your own WordPress themes, if you want to test changes you might have made to your theme or you want to ensure that everything works correctly in a new version of WordPress before upgrading. Normally you would have to FTP the necessary files to your server to be able to do your testing on the Net.

“New Windows” are still with us

The WCAG 1.0 Accessibility Standards makes it clear that we should not cause pop-ups or other windows to appear and we should not change the current window without informing the user. There has been so much hype concerning the whole matter of ‘new’ windows but still it appears as if the debate is not over.
